What We Do at Libraries Without Borders US
Libraries Without Borders US (LWB US) is dedicated to growing the reach of the library. Our core work includes:
National & Local Research
We conduct in-depth research to identify best practices in library services and community engagement. We directly support libraries to apply learnings within their unique context using their existing assets.
Data Collection & Analysis
Through primary and secondary research methods, we collect and analyze data to guide strategic planning and decision-making. We help libraries prioritize their resources and offerings to align with community needs. We develop short and long-term, actionable strategies that sustainably increase library access and usage.
Outreach Implementation & Partnership Development
We identify the barriers preventing individuals and communities from using libraries. We then help libraries bridge those gaps and engage underserved populations using strategic outreach strategies including awareness campaigns, community canvassing, and community partnership development. We utilize existing strategies and create innovative ones!
Training & Capacity Building
We lead trainings and cohort conversations that support libraries and community organizations to increase capacity for strategic outreach. We develop customized toolkits and clear, step-by-step action plans for local implementation.
Special Projects
In partnership with local organizations, we help communities nationwide identify and overcome barriers to information access. Through innovative and strategic collaborations, we connect community members to essential information, education, and resources.
