Libraries Without Borders reimagines what a library can be
LWB US works with public libraries to assess and understand community needs. We develop customized outreach strategies that sustainably increase access to critical resources and essential information.
We use a three-step process to maximize our impact and maintain sustainability at the core of our work:
Our approach utilizes data-driven methodologies to inform decision-making, identify solutions, and measure outcomes.
The Impact
- Increase library users, especially among previously underserved communities
- Enhance access to library resources through innovative pathways
- Expand library staff capacity and effectiveness of ongoing outreach efforts
- Build deeper, sustainable relationships between libraries and community organizations
Connecticut State Library Case Study
The Connecticut State Library and Libraries Without Borders US launched a twelve month pilot to enhance the capacity of Connecticut libraries. The pilot included a cohort of six libraries representing urban, suburban, and rural communities across the state. The overarching goal was to grow each library’s reach and sustainably connect community members to its resources and services through solutions tailored to the unique circumstances and opportunities within each community.
